Got an 89 Jimmy, was looking to to replace pads/rotors and wheel bearing while I'm in there. I'm having a difficult time figuring out what parts should be replaced when doing the wheel bearing. Want to make sure I'm ordering the right parts the first time around so I can get the job done in one shot. Anyone has any recommendations on what they got and worked well let me know.

Also not sure if I should get the rotors with the hub assembly already installed. I don't have access to a press if that's going to be required if I just get the rotor by itself.

What front axle do you have? I assume it’s a 10 bolt (count the number of bolts on the diff cover - 10 bolts = 10 bolt). I’d get the hub and rotor assembled together, price difference isn’t worth the headache. You’ll need inner and outer bearings, inner and outer races, and the seal for the hub. Might also want to check the condition of the ball joints. To check, raise each tire individually, put a pry bar under the tire with a piece of wood between the tire and pry bar to protect it and press on it with your leg while looking for movement in the ball joints. A helper would make it easier. If you do replace the ball joints then replace the spindle bearings and check the axle shaft u-joints too. Also, are you inquiring about the brand of parts? I use Moog or Spicer, something quality so you don’t need to change them in the next 6 months.

Almost forgot, if you don’t have one already get the hub socket that has the nipples surrounded by a ring instead of the nipples sticking out.
