I replaced my fuel pump 8 months ago after the other one kicked the bucket. It didn't quite run right but had a couple other issues to deal with. My throttle body was wore out, so I replaced it with a rebuilt and ultimate tbi modded unit with spacer adjustable fuel pressure regulator and pressure gauge. 10 psi adjusted out all the way out!!!!:doah::doah::doah::doah::doah: Now I got to get motivated and drop the tank and put another pump in. I'm thinking that a 96-99 vortec pump will drop right in and since I have the adjustable regulator I can back the pressure back down to 12-14?

I run the TPI camaro pump as well, AcDelco, only at 45psi. Triple out lasted the POS Walbro unit I had before.

When going to a tpi pump which one do I get 86-91 350 tpi? are they all the same or different for the 305 versions?

we've been thru this before.. I run the Walbro version and have had nothing but outstanding performance with it going on 2 1/2 yr's now...

either way, the higher psi MPFI pumps are the way to go when you have an adjustable reg on the TBI's... polishes the fuel too! :haha:

Of course it's got a full tank in it ,so got to burn some gas off found the ac delco pump on amazon pretty cheap . This thing has always ran decent just weaker than any other 350 tbi I've ever owned now I know why.

Disconnect the gas line at the fuel filter and connect power to the pump, it'll drain in no time. You can do this by either supplying 12V to fuel pump relay on the firewall or at the fuel pump harness next to the tank (12V goes to the gray wire and ground to frame).

pump won't be here until friday so gonna drive it everyday until it gets here, but will do the fuel drain like you suggested:waytogo:

That regulator will bring it down from the 60psi of a vortec pump?

That sounds wrong to me.

the TPI's are about 45... wouldn't matter anyway, the reg will set it at whatever you want, it's just more fuel going thru the return line..

I finally got off my butt and put the new fuel pump in . My regulator was still bottomed out 30+ psi lol. Tomorrow I'm going to back it down to 14. Now that I know what psi I'm capable of with this pump can I run a stock vortec 350?
