Just Wanted to share the news with a group of people who know what that means. Took and Passed A1 "engine repair" Added bonus That I did Zero studying and passed with flying colors

Good job :waytogo:
The way I see it there is no point in stufying, either ya know it or ya dont :wink1:

Yeah now go take the cylinder head specialists, cylinder block specialist, and assembly specialist tests, those aren't so easy! :eek1: I took all 4 in one night, my brain was fried for 2 days after.

Congrats! If you're one of "us" that have taken and passed the ASE tests you know they're not cake. :D I've got to re-take a couple now that thing have lapsed while sitting in the desert.

I made the same mistake of taking too many tests in one sitting. Made my brain hurt :doah:

Congrabulations! I got my T2 through T8 (Class 7/8 truck) ASE tests. If you are gonna take more, try to take them in batches so recertification tests will be easier to remember. I took 3 of mine first then the last 4. If you take all of them at seperate times, your gonna forget when to take the recert. Just some advice, good job!

Also, when it comes time to take the recertifications, you might as well take them all since the price is the same for one as it is for all. Took all of the automotive, med/hvy truck, and parts last time. Passed them all, so I guess they will all come due at at the same time in 5 years.

I took all eight of the "A" tests at once (two different nights) and passed them all, master tech.

Keep it going :waytogo: , usually more is better. I used to have all including advanced driveability but have since let them go. Once you have passed them all you have to do is re-certify, except for advanced driveability IIRC. From what I recall 5 would come due at one time and the other 4 in another set, still lots of questions for one night.

The only thing that ticked me off about having all of them is some dealers wanted you to do it all. Sounds good in theory but when you have two engines torn down in your stall they like to pull a fast one and give ya a interior electrical job . Takes time to clean up enough to work inside a car to not get it greasy, they don't pay for cleanup time.

haha, yeah! That's like when people with their RV's with the Series 60 come in for the 05M2 recall (injector harness and washers), we have to be all paranoid. A damn Ftl COE RV came in and we had to cut a hole in the floor to get to the engine because the builder of the RV body PUT THE BODY OVER THE CAB!!! Couldn't jack it up to work on it. Thank God I'm not in the full-fledged RV shop....I'd hate it.
