I have door sag on the pass door. I was told that I should change the hinge pins and their sleeves. Have any of you fixed your door sag with these? Its just the passenger door.

hahaha
You ot to start a build thread in the "Driveway" forum. Then you can ask all your questions in one place. It can help keep your answers and progress organized.

Check to make sure it's door sag first, it might just be miss-aligned. With the door almost closed pick up on the bottom corner (latch side) and see if it's loose. The door will be at it's loosest in this position and you'll find wobble easy. If it's loose then you'll need to replace the pins. (there are "how to" write ups all over, use the search button) If it's not loose, you'll just need to adjust the hinges with the bolts.

If really loose, inspect the hinges/pins before driving them out. I've seen the pins wear through the bushings and chew into the hinges. At that point, it's best to just replace the hinges. My buddy found this out while his door was hanging from an engine hoist.

Yeah, they sag alot when the door is almost closed. I can move the door up to match the body line too. So it's prolly gonna be hinge pins I guess. I will check those out.

Door Sag

He y rodmillen,
You need to look at your door latch.

The problem is the #8. UPPER RAMP. See below

Over time the door striker slowly whittles away this shelf, and then the hinge pins go.

hope this helps...:D. reference pictures are from 79El Camino

The fact that you say the body line is off confirms that it's your hinges/door alignment. That upper ramp shouldn't need to be modified unless the hinges are good, body lines are aligned, door striker can't be adjusted any further....and it still won't shut.

Yeah, I replaced the pins and brass fittings but it's a little off still. I can't get the LMC pin to go all the way in. The top pokes out a little.
