As the title says, i hit the pedal and the passing gear does go in, how can i adjust the cable??

check the button under the pedal, see if it is working correctly.the vacuum controls the shift points and the little box under ur gas pedal controls the down shifting or correct gear to be in (just a quick explanation of how the tranny works)
I believe you are thinking somewhat of the TH400 which uses a switch on the gas pedal for downshift, but that is SOLELY electrical.
TH350 uses a kickdown cable from the carb to the tranny, there is nothing electrical or vacuum about the TH350 kickdown.
Both the TH350 and TH400 use vacuum to modulate the pressure, which slightly affects shift RPM, but is really there to set how firm the transmission gear shifts are. No vacuum=high load, equals high pressure for firm shifts.

so how can i adjust the cable?
I don't believe the TH350 has an adjustment, someone may correct me on that though. It hooks up inside the transmission and at the carb.
Not really sure how you'd diagnose it...if its hooked up at the carb, and moves as the throttle does, it SHOULD work, if it's hooked up in the transmission, cable isn't broken internally, etc.

From what i remember, the cable goes through a bracket on the back of the carb, the big plastic thing in the bracket has a pull-up lock thingy in it. This lets the kickdown cable sleeve slide in the big plastic holder dealy, then you pull it back to take up the slack, push the throttle to WOT and push down the lock dealy, that should put it in the right place...........man i sound like a chick with all my technical terms here

Raised K5,you are describing a 700R4, which he does not have. Ido notknow how to adjust the cable becuase I havent had the necessity yet.

This is correct I have a 350 in my blazer and that is how it adjust's.

ok finally i had time to do it, i adjusted the cable, popped the plastic lock, pulled the tv cable back but its kind of bent so it sticks some times but put it back on the bracket took it to the road floored it and still no passing gear, i only get lots of revs.
Could i have pulled the cable too much??

The way to adjust tv is to pull the pan off the trans. Theres gonna be a little lever that the cable attaches to that that depresses a plunger. I believe when you foot is to the floor the plunger should be depressed just all the way. Adjust accordingly.

IIRC, some replacement kickdown cables are different from the factory ones, but it's been forever since I replaced mine.
The original one on my TH350 you had to undo the loop that goes around the throttle and snap it out of the bracket, then tighten it or loosen it, and then put it back together and try it again.
The replacement one from the parts store had the snap setup described earlier, much easier to set.If you are enterprising, you could pull the cable off your throttle, route it up through the floorboard into the cab by the transfer case shifter, and manually pull on the thing whilst in gear and see if it kicks down
I would say that if the tranny isn't downshifting, the cable isn't adjusted enough. Also make sure that the tranny end of the cable is hooked on; I recall a largee paper-clip-sized gizmo sticking up out of the tranny, and pulling it up is what forces a downshift. If that zig-zag gets unhooked from the kickdown cable, it'll never downshift
