So my D60's original front spindles have about 160,000 miles on them. They are showing signs of grooving where the oil seals have worn into them. Should I not worry about this - I do alot mud/water. Is there a 'speedi - sleeve' for this application?

..... or should I just try and install the oil seal alittle less flush into the back of the hub?.....or what about installing the oil seal backwards, and the sealing lip would be 1/8" away from the old groove - would that be ok?

Ummm, if you are talking about any front 60 seal there is no oil anywhere near any of those seals.

I wouldn't worry about it but...

If you feel so inclined, speedi sleeves can be found in almost every size. Just measure what you need and order it from a good parts store (NAPA, Carquest, etc.).

In many cases, you can move the seal around or even run double seals. Look at what you have and figure it out

Well, yes, it's only grease in there on the wheel bearings. I was thinking more in terms of a good seal helping keep water/mud out, more than keeping grease in. ;)
