PCV clatter

Ok, new PCV fixed the rattle.... I sprayed carb cleaner around intake and carb and no increase in idle..

still not sure why on cold start my fuel psi is 8 then mellows to 5-7 once warmed up..mechanical fuel pump and no regulator...

Glad the new PVC valve fixed it...saved you lots of diagnosis & work..
A mechanical fuel pump might put out a bit more pressure when cold, the diaphragm is stiffer when cold and likely gets more flexible once it warms up...gas may "thicken" when cold too,as noted...
I know diesel gets thicker once temps dip below freezing..it'll turn to wax if it gets cold enough!..

My diesel would run 15psi normal but when cold it would run up to 30-40psi for the first half hour or so until it warmed up.
