Per NGK - do not use anti seize on spark plugs

Yeah. I use silver antiseize everytime, especially on aluminum heads

But just enough, and keep it away from The hex and the electrode. Never had an issue

I have however had to resort to nefarious methods to remove a plug

Guess I will keep using Delcos

I have always used a small dab, wiped off with my finger. Just enough to know its in there. Never had a stuck plug. I never really use a torque wrench either which seems to be their worry, over-torque.

I put NGK in all foreign stuff. I might have experimented with antiseize way back when, but never really used after. I have had the fortune of west coast dry climate never had an issue with stuck plugs. Except 3 piece Ford pos. The trick on those is to warm up the engine before removal.

i only use copper based anti-seize . much higher temp range and few bucks more a tub .

as bent77 said just a little for threads only . and i only do it on aluminum head stuff . steel to steel just send it and run it .

I expect you rust belt boys to use it. Only time I couldn't break plugs loose, by hand, was in a 70's vintage ford f series with an FE engine was a north east truck, had to use a 1/2" pneumatic impact to get them loose. This would have been around 1980, rust fast in the NE.

Yea I had a bunch of seized plugs no matter the brand in my iron heads/bbc. A small dab of copper a/s went back in. Maybe ngk is concerned with the average home mech using too much and fouling
Yeah so Iron heads I've always used anti-seize. Aluminum heads on a 5.3L with NGK spark plugs I would not use anti-seize.

Canam was putting anti-seize on their plugs. Infact at one point they had a tsb for putting too much on some of their sxs's. But they still use it.

I stick with nickel a/s, never had any temperature issues with it. Permatex Pure Nickel specifically. Just a dab. Aluminum heads I use a torque wrench, iron I just run in. Growing up in the rust belt and then moving to the coast I’m a firm believer in it.
