I almost bought a similar truck years back. Was the Chevy version and a 9' stepside. Close to same color too. This truck was DONE, other then an diesel conversion :D. But I wasn't aloud to buy it and since I was 16 at the time and mom had some control of my money I couldn't get it. Course I bought my current stepside a few months later.

Crazy thing is, it was about the price that one currently is 15 grand. Course that was more then 15 years ago.

That's like Deja Vu to me. I have that exact same truck with the Napco conversion. Same color, fleetside longbox, GMC. Only difference is mine has chrome trim, no winch, and the drivetrain is getting updated. I took some pics of the engine bay before disassembly. This is the best pic I have but it is nearly identical anyways.

Love that truck!..

A guy a few streets away from mine, has a sweet '58 GMC panel truck, that is a Napco conversion 4x4 factory--it has an ultra rare 337 Pontiac engine and the 4 speed hydromatic, all original,so he claims...same color as the truck pictured above, and it has the chrome grille & bumper--was bought somewhere out in the midwest..NO rust or rot either, just a few faded patina spots on it too..

Build thread?

Martin
Maybe when I figure out what drivetrain to put in it. Started out with a 472 Cadillac engine. It was just too big. Then it was a carbed small block Chevy to "keep it simple." That idea never grew. Started thinking about a 383 stroker but it is cheaper to just put a LS motor in. I have a Vortec 454 that may fit if the firewall is modified. The Cadillac motor was my favorite idea though. May still make some mods to make that fit. Then the truck can start a build thread.

An 8.1 is just a big block Chevrolet, I don't see the comparison to a 500 Caddy?
