Im looking into changing my stock cat on my exhaust to a more free flowing cat(performance) and was woundering if it would effect my emissions at all? I have dual 2.5" exhaust from the muffler back and 3" from the Y through the cat into the muffler

How much does one of these high flow cats run for and where to buy it at???? I have the same stock big ass cat from 1989 and i know that it needs a new one its been boggin my engine down and the exhaust smells. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif www.zombieoffroading.8m.net

I've got 2.5" Walker/Dynomax stainless steel jobbies. They cost me $129 ea. from summit a year ago.

I'm pretty sure this is the worlds most high performance cat:

My store (that will soon be part of the CK5 membership program) offers MagnaFlow Stainless Steel High performance Cats in 2-3" with or with out air. If interested send me a PM.

I have 2 highflow cats. Catco I believe. I am running true dual 2 1/4" pipes with highclow cat. I pass emissions in Phoenix AZ which is one of the hardest places to pass. There very tough with there laws. I pass easy though. Just make sure you heat them up well before you go to emissions. I ran about 10 miles of highway at 3000+ RPM prior and right before my turn in the bay I held the motor at 3500+ RPM to make sure they were plenty hot.

I paid like $130 for mine and got it at a local muffler shop.

/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif I get about half that.

How long have you had your Catco Hossbaby?

I had one installed maybe two years ago...it had to get inspected twice since then, the last time it took a lot to get it to pass. I had to repalce a few parts like the IAC, which helped get it a little closer, change the oil, and work on the ESC crap. Even then it just barely did...i looked at my old inspection sheets and the HC's and stuff got a lot worse...maybe its because the engine is getting tired, but i also heard that aftermarket cats are only good for a few years.
