The stock 206K mile TBI 350 in my '91 Burb is hoppin its last legs and I've waited as long as I can. I'm building this truck on a "budget" (yea, right:eek1: ) and if I put another 350 in , I want one that is reliable enough to use daily if I want, but upgraded for more low-end grunt and all around performance within the limits of modified TBI injection, or possibly Edelbrocks' MPFI conversion.

Anyone have the line on performance replacement longblocks for the '87-95 GM TBI 350 engines?

The 210hp/300ft-lb GMPP factory stock replacement longblock is not going to cut it.

This is a Suburban that will see 35-38" tires initially with 4.88-5.13 gears and I want it to move with minimal fuss.

Of course there is option B: TBI454 swap

I would, if the smog nazi's would let me...

Thanks for the heads up

I was under the impression the stock TBI454 was 265hp/380lbs

For waht they want on that website, I'd just peice together an engine. I did with $3k and got headers, 52k volts coil, high volume oil and water pumps, and a chrome dress up kit along with the long block, bigger TBI, and performer intake. Aside from it running rich on cold start (need a new chip to match the upgrades), she runs like a champ and FLIES down the road. I have never dyno'ed to see what the actual hp is, but I'd venture to say its in the 300 range. It wont roast the tires (it will after the full manual valve body goes into the trans) but once it hits second gear, hold on for the ride of your life.:D

Check out:ExtremeEFI TBI 350 It is a nice engine and comes with everything you need to make it run right.
BTW Stock 454 TBI is only 235HP 380lbs torque.

I almost bought one of those motors but the guy who replied to my email was kind of a jerk so I went and had one built locally. Really, I dont know that I will ever buy a motor or transmission online again. Warranty work is a PITA if you have to pull it and ship it back.
