I use them a lot. Not now if that is the case (I have yet to get anything telling me that)...why pay when so many sites are free?

Another good picture host is Zing, http://www.zing.com. They are free and they don't advertise on every pic you post.

There seems to be a trend away from free image hosting. It takes a ton of bandwidth at the server that is hosting the images. I think you will see more and more of the free sites disappearing over the next couple of years. If you have a site that you like, don't spread it around too much.

Expect to see more and more "free" stuff vanish from the web. The servers, software, upkeep, bandwidth, etc. that it takes to keep a web site running cost pretty serious money. Lots of web companies thought that by selling ads on their sites, they would be able to use the ad money to pay for all the "stuff" and still be able to make a profit. One only needs to look at how many dot-coms went out of business in the last year to understand that this business model isn't working.

Very few people ever click on those banner ads any more. Of the ones that do click, they very seldom actually purchase a product from the linked site. Advertisers have learned this and now refuse to pay big money to post banner ads, even on very active web sites. They need to see a return on investment for their advertising dollars.

I wonder if Steve is going to give us back the oppertunity to add attatchments to our post's. I remembered him writting that a couple of months ago. When the move had been completed to a new server by the people hosting this server. Nothing muchs seems to be happening. Problem is that it is for free, get what you pay for.....I would gladly pay 5 bucks a month to move ck5 to a server with enough bandwith for us CK5 'rs to enjoy.
For now I use Webshots.com to uppload pictures and link the so they can be viuwed here...aaaaanyway I'm rambling I'l shut upp now.
