I need a pic of a fuel pump relay. I dont have a tbi k5 but am doing the conversion. This guy has one but dosent know where it is. I am under the impression its on the firewall some where. He has an 87 k5. Thanks for the help

should be on the firewall up near the hood line, left of the engine(when looking at the engine from the grill)

The Grey one is a spare

It sounds like these are the standard relays used on the TBI trucks?

Just curious, I know my '88 TPI fuel pump relay is entirely different, which is stupid since all the others look like those pictured. (thinking of maybe changing over, no idea why GM would have used two different relays during the same years)

Most of the TBI setups Ive seen use these relays but GM does some strange things sometimes. I havent seen the TPI setup so I cant comment. Theres also a oil pressure switch which will allow it to start if the relay goes bad or if you somehow accidently disconnect the harness from the computer...learned that the hard way:blush:

ah dyea im guessing yours is square black with a small diagram on the top and probably says 30/40 and perhaps in the diagram 30/87/87a/85/86 with 5 wires coming out of it yea this is the standard automotive relay easly found at pretty much any autozone-checker-radio shack and to check the relay add positive and negative to 85 and 86 doesnt matter which then positive to 30 and it will make alot of clicking noice that means it works
