Hey does anyone have a picture of thier carb with all the vac lines hooked up like powed brakes all that other stuff need to get mine hoked up and what but could use a good pic

Depends on which year carb . Mine is an 83 , and all I have are the ones that go to egr , pcv , brakes , spark . A couple have short jumpers and go to the vacuum pulloff for the choke and secondary lock out .

If I have enough daylight when I get back from the in-laws thing ( 3 pm here until ? ) I will try to get a pic .

Mine's a edelbrock... but here you go. I couldn't get to the back of the carb very good but I tried to show that only the power brakes come out of the back and into the brake booster. The small vaccuum line on the front left of the carb is the vaccuum advance and the large one in the middle of the carb is the pcv. the fuel line comes into the left hand top side of the carb (you can kind of see it. And I capped off the right vaccuum port on the front side (blue) because I didn't need it. I know your running a different year but I hope these help.

What kind of stuff do you have to hook up?

The power brake booster typically goes to the big threaded port on the back of the intake, the PCV goes to a large port up front, dizzie goes to the ported vaccum port on the front of the carb just below the accelerator pump (or to direct manifold vac from a port on the baseplate if you want).

mine looks something like this...

lol! I do what I can. My '85 always seemed like it had waaaaaaay to many vac lines hiding under the air cleaner. I'll take a pic when I get home. Any time I see an older (70s) engine bay I get sooo jealous. Imagine, and engine running well without 2 miles of vac lines under the hood, how can it be?!! :)

Well this is a Holley 4160 600cfm, but you get the idea.

The only vaccum lines coming off the carb are the timing advance, brake vaccum sorce(thats the one with all the zip ties on it holding my choke cable), and the standard Holley line that loops back into the carb (not sure what its for)

Also when I got the truck it had the pvc valve in the intake and the valve cover connected to eachother. Is this needed? I don't think this is the usual set up so what is?
Oh and I have no emissions so that is not a factor and the reason why I only have 3 vaccum hoses. :wink1:

k here goes :

First things first , I do not run vacuum switches , all emissions directly :deal:

Ignore dirtiness , haven't cleaned in ages , runs too well to mess with . Do need to readjust choke , so will clean soon I PROMISE :D

the port with the hose and screw go to a pulloff this replacement carb does not have .

1 - bowl vent to vapor can
2 - ported vacuum to vapor can (can also has a full time to pcv)
3 - inlet , fuel
4 - EGR vacuum
5 - dizzy vacuum
6 - went to original air cleaner bottom , very top port of rear airhorn .
7- PCV

as promised, here are some pics of my Q-jet. My rig is an 85, had a 305 back in the day, but now its a 350. I never messed with the vacuum lines, other than when I rebuilt my carb. All that rambling = these are stock.
