Yeah, I am very surprised I got that much lift out of the 63's and flip. My goal is to keep the center of gravity as low as possible and still fit the 46's. Some minor fender trimming was done to this by the previous owner - Thanks OL14BLZ!
What did the 63s come out of?

I want to do a flip on mine in the spring or so. And I may as well do something to the springs as well since I am going to be chaning them, why not go longer.

Just that I want to stick with the 8 inches of suspension lift that I have.

They came out of a late '90s 3/4 ton 2x4. The truck was wrecked early in life and had low miles on it.

The shackles were the same as on the K5. So that didn't make any difference.

Rember, there is noooo weight in the back of this thing. Once the fuel tank is installed and gear added it will likely sit at 7"-8" of lift.

:waytogo:
That would be perfect.

I may have to look into this.
You have anymore closeup pictures of the rear hanger? The only issue I see with me personally is that it will mount right where my bumper mounts. And I just made the things.

Hmmm.... :ears:

There is a close up pic of the rear hanger on the first page of this thread.

You would have to do something about the bumper brackets. This also pushed the rear axle back approx. 6" I did this for better departure angle...

I may have to modify the crossmember that is in front of the gas tank. currently there is about 5" between the top of the axle and the cross member.

Oh yeah... forgot about that picture.

Yeah, the messes with my rear bumper completely. Who knows about the bumper by the time I get around to doung this. I could always change it.

I like the idea of moving the axle back, thats fine. I am just curious about the axle and gas tank area clearance, like you mentioned.

Thanks bro. When are you going to have some pics of yours?
Well, you know how I've been dragging my feet so I plan on getting a decent amount done and then posting the pics up slowly so it looks like I'm making good progress. :rotfl:

Actually, I'll probably start posting pics right after Christmas, that week will be my next opportunity to do anything.

BTW - those are some secksy wheels you got there. :D

I think you should be OK on the tank and even the crossmember. This top loader axle is a lot tall than a 14 bolt. I just threw that out there fyi...

I am doing the same thing...

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

I wonder how the 63s perform... I guess its SEARCH time.

Alright, keep it in your pants. I am not 100% on the wheels yet. I like the 2 piece John351C builds...

Steve Sharp is building a set that are going to be nice and unique. He cut the center out of a stock 20" like the ones you see in the pic and is welding them in a 20" shell from MRW (I think that is the name. It used to be MRT.)

Or I may try to do something with Cybrfire's locks...He does some good work!

Looking good Daniel---no prolbem on the hack job for the fenders, I'm sure you can tell it was my first time with the sawzall.

Did you get rid of the 48s you bought off of me? I noticed you mentioned 46 inch Michelins??

lol - You did a fine job with the sawzall. Wait untill I get done with it... :)

Yeah, I traded Daniel @ USA6X6 for a set of 395/85R/20s

The 14R20s were just to dang big for practicality. The 395s are 75 lbs lighter and are better proportioned than the 14R20s

Looks Great... are you gonna need to do some fender trimmin'? Or does it look that way because of the angle of the pic? Anyway looks awesome..

It's about time you got started on this! I've been wondering what that is gonna look like with those Rockies under there. If it turns out anything like your '90, it's gonna be awesome.
