I'll let you in on a little secret I've been keeping. After you swap the cab onto your blazer frame, a front fender flipped around to the back will fit pretty good. Just make some mounts, trim the fender abit and it should look pretty good.
I customized mine with ms paint. now keep in mind, my rear axle is back 5.5 inches

I think you should do that, but with a complete clip in the rear, fenders and hood, open the hood to get the gear outta the back...
