Bushwacker Cut-outs, anybody runnin em?

Im toying with the idea of doing some fender trimming with my 4in lift to clear the 38" TSL's im putting on the truck, but i want to keep it looking presentable. I like the idea of the fender flares as a "finished" look rather than just hacking away at the fender. Also with the DRW axles and big tires im sure they will stick out a bit wider than my current setup, so it would be nice to get that added coverage as well. front fenders are solid, rear quarters are pretty rotted around the edges. but solid further in.

Just not sure if i want to bend over and take that darned near $500 price tag :eek1:

I bought some on craigslist from a guy that "toyed the idea" long enough to get sick of seeing them in his garage- LOL!, My gain!, I am cutting the fenders off next weekend and installing them I will post it. as for look- you could google image it, lots out there. I bought mine from this guy for $150 for the whole set of 4, ha!

Not my truck...google search.

I've got a set out in the shed....been meaning to put them on for a couple years now. I've always like the look of them, along with the visior on top of the cab.

I love mine. I have rears that are sitting with nothing to do since I dont have a bed :D

You basically trim the out fender back to the inner fender on the firewall and gain loads of clearance. Id recommend them but not for $500. I paid $50

You can gain alot more room without using the flares. They only allow for a minimal amount of trimming, only to the inner fender wells. If you have a steady hand and a cut-off wheel it works just fine + bookoo room. I trimmed the "fangs" off the front of mine and the rear of the front I started at the bend and went straight to the bottom mount bolt. Then took a hammer and pounded the inner fender well up to match the cab/firewall. As for the rear???? I made a flat bed! Can't find any close up pics, so I'll go take some and be back in a flash!

You get about 1" at each end on the front fenders and about 2" at each end on the back. This doesn't sound like a lot until you cut it and see. Even a little trimming goes a long way for tire clearance. For the older front fenders (74-79?) you get 2" for the front tires, so those fenders must have slightly smaller openings. At the top of the wheel opening you don't gain any height, but this usually isn't the limiting factor.

The Bushwackers conform right to the fender, so it would be really hard to cut the opening any bigger or smaller than what they recommend. I think it's also very unlikely you will find one intended for a different vehicle that you can make fit.

No reason to pay $500. I got the fronts from Amazon for about $175 (pair) and the rears for about $72 (pair), but I think that was some kind of error on their part. As far as I know, they still offer free shipping on all of them.
