As some of you may know from the 205 thread in the tech forum, I have become sort of the unofficial diseminator of scanned 205 tech articles. I would like to collect pics from anyone willing to send them of np205s installed. I think it might be useful to some people, and I have seen threads requesting pics like this before. Thus, I must have a group of them for my all encompassing 205 tech library that I email to anyone that requests it.

So... anyone have any? Please include any stats that make sense to include... ie, if its clocked, how much, if a stock or custom x-member is used, etc etc. Ford, Dodge, GM... doubler... clocked... slip yoke, fixed yoke... divorced... doesn't matter! If its a pic of a 205 in a rig, I want it! Thanks in advance!

Probably not a huge help, but as I recall from one of your articles, might help to differentiate from a 203. 1991 205, VSS on the case, stock install. Can't see the fixed yoke or anything, but it's there. '85+ short, circle pattern adapter.

Bottom one is a 465/205 combo circa 1973-84, (1974 supposedly) but mounted on an '81 frame/x-member w/ratio adapter on the speedometer cable. Tall, figure 8 style adapter, '84-

ORD Doubler setup with a GM Np203 and a GM NP205, the Doubler is configured to clock the NP205 2" up. The NP205 is a solid yoke setup using a High Angle Driveline flange for use with a CV driveshaft. The crossmember is a custom unit that I made myself, it uses a 2wd mount under the NP203 adapter and uses custom bushings that I made for under the Doubler adapter. Need more info, let me know.

Pete.

I know someone has more. While I'm collecting... I'm also looking for random 205 accessory pics... either factory or aftermarket. Twinsticks, billet parts, custom adapters, custom/stock output flanges/yokes... pretty much anything and everything. :thumb:

Here's some crappy pics of mine and the crossmember I built for it. I think I am the only person to ever build a skidplate for a 205, but I figured I'd be doing quite a bit of dragging with a 130" wheel base, and I was right. The skid only hangs below the case about 1 1/2" and has been prety thoroughly beaten on rocks and dirt.

Top is a 1991 shifter from a 4L80E/205 combo, bottom is a 70's 465/205 combo.

From what I can tell, the difference in shifter is based on the length of the transmission/adapter. Since the 32 spline 465 used longer output shafts than earlier, the +3" that was built into the adapter set the shifter back further.

Because 1985+ 205 would have had ONLY the TH400 or 465 in front of it, and later the 4L80E, the adapters were probably designed so that the shifter was in the same location for either one, to keep from having different floor pans based on transmission, just a shifter change instead. The two shifters pictured above are definitely different as you can see. I had to bend the early one towards the driver to fit my '86 floor pan (seems like that was a fluke according to most) but the later one, even with the 3" longer adapter, bolted right in and does not hit the floor pan.

I had never heard of the difference in shifters until I had to deal with it, so I'm not sure if there is much more documentation on this. GM COULD have used a different shifter for say a TH400/205 combo in 1981, and a TH350/205 combo form 1980 though, plus the 1985+, I just don't know.

lambertkhp, thanks. used lots of brake parts cleaner and time to clean them enough to paint.

Some pics of the combo before install and the twin stick setup.
Combo is from a '77 3/4 ton chevy. You can see the 10 spine output on the sm465 very well.
