As I posted here I just picked up a 80 something donor Burb. Its pre TBI and guess what I want! Was thinking a trip to pic a part on their half price day might be a fruitful venture. Is there any reason I couldn't just convert a mid 80's carb engind to a TBI with part form an 89 or 90'sh donor? Any engines or years to stay away from... The simpler the better and the main reason is just for off road reliability in extreme angles. If I could pick up a mile a gallon or so that would be a plus as well.

I think an aftermarket tbi kit would be easier and cheaper in the long run, althought pick a part might seem cheaper, add up the hours spent chasing bugs and it is much cheaper, done it before on a landcruiser with a police pkg 350.
