Picked the Buick 455 Now what?

Yeah TA performance was were I was looking at parts for it, their stage 2 aluminum heads arn't that pricey, I'm sure I can buget it some by getting parts off e-bay and such. the most expensive things will be the supercharger and the heads i'm assuming. Should be a fun build. thanks for the info Rene!

If you are going to build a buick the oiling system must be addressed. Higher rpms will starve the heads of oil. Pretty much all you need to do is look at TAs catalog in the oiling section. Keep me updated if you would, I have a buick I would like to build and put in the blazer.

Yeah, I've read up on them a little, all the parts will be replaced basically, I'll keep you updated whenever I pick the motor up and start ripping it down, and rebuilding. :D

Start looking for late 60s, early 70s Wagoneers. The came factory with 350 Buick/Turbo 400s. That will give you a short shaft Buick pattern 400, to bolt your T case to. Might even be able to use the motor mounts and pedestals, with a bit of work.

Yeah, that was something I was wondering, I can't swap out the shaft on the tranny thats on it? I was actually hoping to bolt a sm465 to it. know what would be involved with that?

If using an chevy auto trans you can use an adapter. Thats what i am doing to mate my pontiac to the chevy th400.

if you'd use the sm465 with an adapter you'd have to make sure you have enough engaugement of the pilot shaft.
