Out of a 1995 1 ton van. Haven't looked at the gear ratio yet. No specific plans for it but got it for a decent price.

It's the newer style axle but has the drums on the backside of the hub like the old style 14BFFs.

I just picked up a 14 bolt old style housing, 4.56 gears. Super narrow width too, for underbed dually!

Same price as you, too! :D

I like those ribs on the pumpkin. They look cool.

"Ribbed for extra pleasure"....:D

I saw a few Dana 60's at a junkyard the other day while looking for tires ,one was on a complete chassis that was once a one ton dump dually, going by the tail lights still on it and the pintle hitch,it was in a stack of chassis piled waist high like cordwood that still had the axles and transfer cases bolted on them,no wheels or tires..the other ones were lying on the ground and could have been GM or some other brand..

I didn't bother to ask how much because I dont need one,and I'm sure they would want at least 500 each for one...they seem to be fairly plentiful lately around here,I guess a lot of 4x4 one ton dumps from town DPW's and old contractors trucks from the 80's are now finally getting scrapped...

Where did you get $100 clams? :haha:

Thems is expensive clams.

I got the axle from my Uncle and I had said to him, the ribs look cool. He said, "Does that make it worth more?" I replied, "Nope, not to me.":D

Getting quite the stock pile of axle housings. Not even sure why I bought this one. Maybe I need to take an inventory one of these days.

R&D? Is the casting any thicker on the bottom where you'd shave it?

I got one already and its the multi ribbed like yours.

no real difference.
