dana 60 from an '88 drw k30. it came with 4.10 gears. i was wondering if the 10bolt brake calipers fit the d60 knuckles because it had no calipers on it.

No, not without an aftermarket kit. The D60 uses the bigger Bendix calipers...

Get 2 of these and you can.

Caliper Brackets

There is a company that makes these brackets that you can also run 15" wheels without grinding. I am not sure if those are the link or not. Also try Gravelmaker on here he is a vendor I think he makes brackets like that.

welcome to the 1 ton club :D
I doubt it. but you could get some 3/4 ton brackets from screamin seeman offroad. and then use your old brake setup from your front 10b that's on your rig now. I did the swap last month. the reason I went with the conversion was I had the parts already from my 10 bolt that were in great shape. and I needed new calipers and rotors for my dana 60 so it was cheaper to go this route. plus the wedge style caliper mounting system is a huge PITA!!!

if i was to run the h1 rims to i then need to look for a 14bff that is also from a dually to get the widths to be the same front and back?

14FF from a dually is narrower than normal, you need a single wheel 14FF and some wheel spacers 4" IIRC
Or the wider D70HD rear. :wink1:

From your pics and Ira's, we can clearly see how the caliper fits the rotor utilizing a bent bracket where as the one that Ira shows on the link is just a flat bracket.
What is the deal here? If the flat brackets are used, which rotors are employed? Looks like the SS brackets use the standard GM 3/4 ton rotors. Don't know how those can fit to a flat bracket like those from Extreme Axle Sales.

Did not even notice that. I would go with the bent brackets as there are pics that show they actually fit:D . I am thinking about doing this cause I think I have a bad caliper and I dont wanna grind D60 calipers again:doah: .

is there any difference between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton calipers and rotors on the 10 bolt frontends?

yup 1/2 ton rotors are 6 lug and 3/4 rotors are 8 lug. half ton rotors will not fit on a standard D60 hub

are you using the 10b wheel studs (7/16) as well? they look small compared to the 9/16th. looks good tho

looks like this is the route i am going to take. how well does 10 bolt brake equipment perform on your beast? i like this setup because i can stick with 15" rims without grinding the calipers. seems to me that when the rims get bigger than 15", tires start getting real expensive.

works great on my sub. I also have rear disc brakes. I Need to have the brake system powerbled there alittle soft but they stop great. hit them up on pirate so u get them for $75 to your door. oh yeah there instructions says to drill out the rotors to 21/31 which is not right u need to drill them out to 11/16.
