Will a hardtop (Leer, model 122) from a 88-98 K3500 fit on my 1985 K30? Not easy to find one for a 81-87 longbed here, so this might be an option.

no the box on 88-up taper in as thay go back to the tailgate area . the 73-87 trucks have a square box design.
i found this out 1 time by sliding a toolbox that sets on the box rails to the back of my old 83 and then it wouldnt fit up the back of the 88-up style truck i swaped it in to. i had to set it up in the box with a friend.
you might be able to modify a bit and but it wont be right.
