I am installing new rear window weatherstip on an 84 k10. The window is a sliding one and the weatherstrip is the one without trim. Do I install the weatherstrip on the window and then put in the cab?Or put the weatherstrip in the cab and then put the window in place?

Thank you in advance

post 3 detailed install with gasket and center strip style. with 1 peice its almost the same. just ignore strip info.

and the warmer it is out or inside the better. even soak the gasket in 5 gal bucket of hot water for few min .

slow and steady wins the race.

small string is your friend with 1 peice gasket. put it around the inside of the gasket were it will fit in the cab hole. have someone hold the window up to the cab after you drop the bottom in the channel. pull string slow / steady to flop rubber inside. and lots of soapy water. blue dawn dish soap works best and use lots with some water.

I like to use 12ga electrical wire to pull the gasket in. The vinyl insulation makes the job a little easier.

Here are pictures of what I am dealing with. I am doing the front window as well. Any tips on how to remove the old gasket/seal from the front and rear window frame?
