I have the oportunity to buy a Blazer minus the engine for 500.00. I was wondering how hard it would be to take the running gear off of the Blazer and put it on my 84 SWB truck. Thanks.
Oh its an automatic 6.2L Diesel truck. I would have to cut a hole for the transfercase I am sure, but what other obstacles would I run into or is it even feasable?
Thanks

It might be easier to swap the pickup body onto the K5 frame? I know that there are a few people on this board who have done this, hopefully one of them will chime in and give their $.02. If I'm not mistaken, the frames are completely different from 2wd to 4wd and you would have to make a lot of custom steering components, spring hangers, transfercase mounts, skidplates, etc... It could probably be done, but how much time/$$$$$$ do you want to put into this project?

Yeah the truck is 2wd. I think I will forget about the blazer, unless i buy it and fix it up, I haven't seen it yet, but was told the running gear was all good. I will go check it out and see if it is worth anything. I need the tires at least. They are BFG 31's with 85% tread left for 100.00, with 6 lug wheels, but I will sell the wheels. Anyone need any parts, I will see what he has. He said it was complete minus engine. He also told me I could get the hood and fenders for 25.00 for a friend, So if anyone needs anything let me know and I will check it out for you. It's in Souther Calif.
Thanks Damon
