so I have had the 1 pickup trailer for years now and love it . but in her old age she is getting real thin on the back end of the frame . so time to swap her to fire wood storage / hauling duty when needed. this one has 5" channel for its header and tounge . and the hitch coupler was welded in to it . wish I had got a bolt on plate for it back in the day tho . . . . oh well.

v2.0 has arrived in the form of a 2wd long bed frame that was twisted bad for reuse on road and whole steering box section was ready to fall off.

got some 2x6 tube and whipped up the header and tounge today with the new hitch plate and 2 5/16 ball coupler. there a dico style coupler with a full round lock up inside for the ball to seat against . not just a flimsy stamped steel tab like lots of them do any more.

cut this frame a little longer than older 1 also . right were she flattens out from fire wall area slop down . should make it ride even better I think . not to say old one was bad .

the end of v.1.o has arrived.

the old original frame got reunited with its original box .

then I stuff a fiberglass cap on it I had from a parted out truck . ( glad I didn't scrap it yet )

this was trip to shop from box's long term resting spot it was at . and last pic is stacked up tight/full of firewood. best way to store it I know of and keep it easy to move when needed.
