those of you that have 3" body lift on your pickup. did you raise the gas tanks as well? is there room to add a 3rd k5 tank to the back of the frame without it hanging down? anyone put a gas tank in the middle of the frame in front of the rear axle?

The previous owner put in the body lift. The truck only has 1 16 gallon saddle bag tank, and he relocated the tank to the other side and put in a rubber hose for the filler that runs to the other side. (The Tank is on the passenger side, the filler is on the driver side, and there's a good sized hose that runs between the frame & body to connect the 2

I'm looking at putting a suburban tank into it and ditching the saddle bag. I need more than 16 gals on the trail w/ a thristy 383 :eek1: I have to carry 3-5 gallon jerry cans and fill up through out the day.

blazer / burban tanks will fit in the c/k truck frames. easy to make mounts . but need to put in the back side of axle. and if short bed best go just 31 gal only to keep it short .
