Pics: 305 or 350?

Can anyone tell if this is a 305 or a 350?

It's from a 1983 GMC Jimmy and the VIN tells me it's a 305, but who knows if it's been swapped out in the past 22 years...

Any other way of knowing?

well I do know in the back of the engine it will give the size... 5.7 or 5.0...etc... but it is behind the distributor.. hard to see when in the truck...

whats the last three letters (or just two) stamped on the front of the pass side block (on the deck surface)?

Form looking at the HB it appears to be a 305. I can only see a small cross section of it though.

I have 2 pre-one piece seal blocks that have the 5.0 LG cast in them one is a 1983 block

maybe it was 80 when they moved the dipstick then?

I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong. The 2 305s I have swapped out both had counterbalanced harmonic balancers, not smooth on the backside like a 350. I tried using the 305 balancer on a 350, and it was not pretty!!!
