about a week ago my neighbor gave me a 67 chevy c30 cab/chassis model.
i remembered this guy that had several 67-72 trucks so i went to see him after work today to see if he had anything i wanted. well he didnt have any 67-72 stuff worth dragging home but he did have a 86 2wd 1/2t long bed that looked pretty dang clean so i asked him what the deal was on it. he looked at me for a second then said dont you have a older jaguar with a 350 in it? how did he know that i wondered? then he said his bioy used to work at my work and remembered me. i told him yes i do and he said ill trade ya that truck for the jag. (a little history on the jag. I have had it almost 8 years now and never do much with it. I did spend about $5500 on it when i put it together but lost intrest. so it hadnt got drove much more than maybe 2000 miles in those 8 years) i said well id have to think about it does the truck run? he said yes and pulled some papers out of the glove box. recepits for machine work and parts, said the engine has about 1500 to 1800 miles after the rebuild. so we jump started it and i drove it down the road solid truck ran fine i made the trade. well i got it home tonight and looked it over the body is almost perfect. no rust no major dings. so i broke out a magnet to check for bondo in all the usual places, and guess what i didnt find any. curious i went back to the glove box and pulled out all the papers. there was registration for the guy i just bought it from and one for AZ state water improvment. SCORE! rust free AZ truck. then i found the recepits and looked them over.
350 4b main clearanced and bored 30 over. clearanced? sure enough i look though the rest and it has all the goodies for a 383 stroker. test drive time. i drove it easy till it had time to warm up (sitting since april 2nd) then got on it
and it didnt pull my hat off my head. bummer no 383. so when my dad got home i was showing him the truck. i had the air cleaner off to check things over noticed it had the q-jet with the elec shut off valve. (right front top of carb) you know the ones that arnt worth rebuilding? i fire it up for dad and hes running the throttle with his hand and asks "the secondaries open up fine?" and when he throttled it wide open the butterflys didnt move. got to looking and the linkages are all missing and theres a plate of some sort under the back half of the carb. so tomorrow i gotta try a diff carb and get some pics if i can find my camera. more later

I wanna hear how it goes.
Look like it has an '81-'82 front bumper...are the parking lights hooked up in there? I can't tell from the pic, they look empty from here.
