Pics of a friggin' huge H2 I saw today...

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

Stuck???? I think not, my rims need a little shining so I thought I'd debead a tire and shine them. I can't pick up the women without the shiny rims. Thinking about getting 24"s. Then I wouldn't even need tires!![ QUOTE ]

Looks like you need a tire alignment or you were using the wrong kind of air. Somethings not right with that pic, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

Bobby, this is my last post in this thread. I know you are a poser, you know you are a poser, and all of CK5 knows it. i didnt get into 4x4s because i thought "hey, that big truck looks cool" my first wheeling experience was at 14. in a bone stock K20. my uncle's $300 beater plow truck, and it was fun, but i didnt get into it. i had some lookers, including a 1949 Chevy 3100 pickup, my 82 C10 was pretty once upon a time, i had a TA for a while, and my 93 C1500 was well on its way to being a good looking truck. when the trans died after pulling a heavy trailer with a derby car on it, i literally fell into my 91 K1500. happened to be riding around with my parents, and passed a car lot. i limped my C1500 to the car lot, and traded it in. not because i partiularly liked the truck, but it was in my price range, and it was a Chevy truck. 2 days after buying it, a friend of mine called me. he was out wheeling, and got BIG stuck. he called me, and a few other friends to try and get him out. i got out there, and in the process of getting to his stuck truck, i had to do a little wheeling myself. i enjoyed it, so i tried some more. i quickly learned the limitations of my truck. one of them was the "prettiness" of the new truck, i didnt want to scratch it. IFS and its lack of travel were one another. i knew straight axle was where i wanted to be. after tossing aroudn the idea of going SFA on the2 91, i decided to build off of non-street driven stuff i already had. im not one to throw a bunch of money at something, and then break it, so i went big right off the bat. i dont intend on driving my rig on the street every day, i plan on keeping the "pretty" truck just for that. better fuel economy, less chances of it getting beat up, and maybe even turn a few heads now and then. the reasoning for the beater, is i have a hobby. my hobby is building and USING machinery (be it a car, or a truck) for its intended purpose. my '49 was a cruiser, my TA and 82 C10 were both more "performance" oriented, and now my present ride is to be abused. i've done the pretty ride thing, and worrying about door dings really gets old. if you would like to continue posting poser comments on what is a site driven by, and apparently created for a group of wheelers, you should expect to see lots of anti-poser posts.

I do agree with rjfguitar. Why does everyone have to make such a big deal about the nice big trucks? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Is it jealousy or what? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Seiously lay off.

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

Christ, I just put this pic up here to say "GOD DAMN THAT THING IS BIG"... I didn't really mean to start a big pissing contest on whose type of truck is better. Does this thing see the trail ever, I doubt it. Does my truck see the freeway, rarely... (but it does sometimes /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif) I enjoy beaters (like mine), nice rigs that people wheel, street driven poser rigs, and trailer queen show trucks that probably don't run... like I said in the original post...whatever blows your skirt up. I would probably own a big f'n truck for a daily driver if I could afford it, and it would probably never get wheeled, well, hmmmmmm, better never say never... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am not a big fan of the H2. They are poser rigs anyways. Who would want to spend $50 g's on a trail rig? Definetley just a status symbol /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Some guys probably have $50 Grand in their rigs if they figured time, accessories, etc.

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

I bet a $50K CK5 rig would be pretty damn impressive though

Hell buy one of those kit buggies like a sniper and spend a little extra to make it comfortable to drive all the time nad there you go

Put A/C in it, functional tinted windows, a completely sealed interior, comphy seats, carpet, a good stereo, and I would consider it. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Interesting, the way he turned the front axle upside down, and backwards. My only ? is, I wonder how long the ring gear and pinion will hold up being run in a reverse configuration. I would'nt think it would be as strong, unless he put a special reverse cut gear or something of that nature. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

it may be a hi pinion axle /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

Looks like a ball jointed ford front end from what I can see.

I don't mind seeing the occasional big $$ truck pic. Makes me realize there are ALOT of people out there that make way more money than me. Those people help keep aftermarket companies in business, they don't look for the cheapest price--they just buy what they want.

If you were to take all the big $$ mall cruising trucks, sand trucks etc and get them into actual 'wheeling, what would happen? The trails would be so crowded it wouldn't be fun anymore.

I say let them cruise the mall and car shows. I'll take pictures and admire their creations. Then I'll go do what I want.

Yeah that would be a Ford style hi-pinion front 60... It's not a gm 60 flipped around and upside down.

A GM60 upside down wouldn't even work right? The front would rotate in the oposite direction than the rear right?

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

A/C woouldn''t be too hard, functional tinted window, well maybe zip outs, sealed wouldn;t be too bad if working with a boat shop or somesuch, get some nice race setas, use some nice shag crapet from the hardware store, (everyone loves stereos!) so easy as pie and there you go

Ok get to work!

Re: Pics of a friggin\' huge H2 I saw today...

In my old truck that I blew up (before the age of reason) I asked a capret installer in town if he has any scraps.

Turns out he had done a lawyers office and what he took out was very expensive red and black shag carpet from the 70's. It was plush, Stone Temple Pilots degree plush.
