Re: Hot August Night\'s Pic.

funny you should mention hot august nights...
I was there and I saw both of your blazers. More like drooling over them. Those two K/5's looked really good.
Man it made me wish I brought my '72 K/5.

I posted most of my pictures from hot august nights, and the first few pic's are of the blazers that were there....

Hey... That looks just like my truck! JUst slightly higher. How did you reach 18" of lift? I plan on raising mine another 4"s or so next spring(11" currently). Looks great!

Re: Pic\'s of August Night\'s and 1 FN HI K5

I wanted to put 44's under a blazer without cutting the fenders. I took it to a very good spring shop in Sacramento
and told them to make them fit with out rubbing. The front are 15" the back are 9" with a 5 1/2 " block and a 3" body liftI was thinking of doing a shackle flip. ( you must do crossover steering) for this type of lift. I am running 5:13 gears with my stock front driveline. Front axle is a reverse rotation (High Pinion) Dana 44
I am running a TBI off a 89 With my stock block. I have a 89 350 with vortec heads I will be putting in soon.

To 1 FN HI K5 I love your truck you did a great job on it.
I have a few questions for you.
I would like to know about your crossover steering did you buy a kit and how much $ it cost or where you got it.

I saw the pic's at hot august night's you were driving it,is it street legal or do you have to tow it?

I am working on lifting my 72 and i would like to go with 38 or 40 inch tires. Thank you K5 Girl

Re: Pic\'s of August Night\'s and 1 FN HI K5

K5 Girl if you dont know you cant go to the local 4 wheel drive shop and tell them you want xover steering those dummy's dont have a clue what you are talking about. If its not in the book they cant get it. My Blazer took me 5 years to put together and alot of money i had to fab almost every thing on my suspension but i think it is worth it. as for driving it I drive it every where I have ben pulled over once this last year. hope this helps.

Re: Pic\'s of August Night\'s and 1 FN HI K5

Thanks for the compliment. I remember the exact color( already painted when I bought it). What did the cop tell you when he pulled you over? I too have been pulled over, but only for mud flap(which I rescently removed again). Only time I've been pulled over, but I expect that might change next year, when I raise it a little higher. I am thinking about another 2-4"s. But that will have to wait until I have the crossover steering done. Later.

God bless those who in the name of freedom and justice, have, and will make the ultimate sacrafice! These words are in your honor.

1HIHUM I was pulled over comming home from wheeling on the Rubicon and surrounding area in placerville. The HWY patrol took several pictures of me standing by my truck. I thought this was 4 his buddy's to say look what i caught today. He even called a D.O.T to help wright me the ticket.
He got me for 3 things mud flapes not big enough, ( i had 12 inch x12 inch flapes) headlights to high(middle of headlight not over 54inches Mine are 57inches) and frame height to high (from ground to lowest part of frame no more than 30inches mine is 37inches) amount wo/correction was $86.00 with correction $10.00 all it came down to is a fix it ticket.
Let me know if you need help or ideas with your xover.
