Does anyone have a pic or two of what a Detroit Locker looks like in a 14BFF axle?

I've been eyeballing a 14BFF on eBay and it claims to have 4.56 and a D.L. in it.

I have a CUCV front D60 with 4.56 so I'm interested in a simple swap.

Can a gov-loc be mistaken for a D.L. (visually)?

Thanks much!

Yeah, remember that on a 14bff, the Detroit goes inside the open carrier... so dead giveaway, if it has three holes, it's a Gov-loc carrier, can't be a Detroit.

when i first got mine 14ff i thought it was a gov lock cause both tire spun, but not on the truck. i took the cover off there was a 4 holes so its a open end. now its on the truck under its own power, only 1 tire spins on the road, and 2 tires spin sometimes on the dirt so its open.

Here's an article that I wrote on a Detroit install in a 14bFF. There are numerous pictures that might help you out. http://www.4x4mecca.com/forum/vbarticles.php?do=article&articleid=29
