Re: Pic\'s of electric fan install

Wow nice job.
That is a clean looking installation.
I dig that TPI set up.

my truck's not dirty, it's earth tone paint

Re: Pic\'s of electric fan install

Nice setup and fabrication!

Just tell yourself that you needed a new radiator anyway...

If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style...

MAN! that is super nice! Love that TPI conversion. Awsome truck!
Now I'm going to open my big mouth and tell you one thing I would change. I would move the Bosch Relays up higher. Down on the bottom of the shroud I would be concered about water getting in them and shorting them out. I'd get them up by the breakers.

Re: Pic\'s of electric fan install

Hay that is such an awsome job and you got great pictures why don't you do a complete write up on it and get a list of part numbers and where you got them and turn it into Steve for the tech section. That would be a great addition.
A lot of us have thought about doing such a swap, Me included. I really like the fact that you found a thermostat that wasn't one of them hokey deals into the radiator hose. Keep us updated on how it does in the heat.

Grim,no problem,I welcome all constructive criticism.Never really thought water getting up that high but I guess it would be a good idea.Sould have mounted them on the top of the shroud.Hey...live and learn.Thanks.

Re: Pic\'s of electric fan install

Thanks for the inspiration, Bob! Beautiful installation on the fans. I have a couple of SPAL electric fans that I haven't yet mounted, and have been toying with different ideas on how I want to do it. Now I have game plan.

Re: Pic\'s of electric fan install

Just an update on the performance of the fans. It's been appox. 2 weeks now since the install. of the fans.No cooling problems with only 1 fan running. It does runn a little warmer with only 1 electric fan running compared to the clutch fan.But with both the electric fans going things are cool as a cucumber(what does that mean anyway?)The fans are cooling a mildly built SBC350 with a new 4core rad.
