Thought I would post up some pics of the little ladies 71 K5. Her dad bought it for her. He ended up passing away a few years ago so it's got a lot of sentimental value to her. BTW she is Bluechic on here.
Here's the rundown on it. SBC350/TH350/NP205/D44/12 Bolt/3:08's

Right now the plans are to just give it a little TLC. It does need a gear swap though. Nothing like a TH 350, 3:08's and 33's to help gear you down while going down a hill. Really have to use the brakes on this puppy while going down a hill.

Hey now, 3.08s and 33 make that TH350 have overdrive though. 70 MPH at 2300 RPM is far better than it would be with proper gearing. Although I do agree, it really kills engine braking.

Looks very clean, she is very lucky to have it.

Those pics make my truck look good!! Lov'n my Blzr!! Need a lift though, then it'll be much better!

True Jason, but living in the hills it's nice to have the lower gears too. I have a set of 1/2 tons out of my K5 with 3.73's that could be swapped in if need be.

I understand it, you do know I live in Utah right? I have a set of 4.10 3/4 tons to go into Krusty, if I can ever get the cash together to buy new wheels and tires.

3:08's and 33's is what I had and it was horrible in stop and go, and pulling anything. I went to 3/4 ton 4:10's and 35's and my gas mileage went up. Finally in the double digits! wahoo!

BTW: sweet 1st gen, Thats what I grew up in, and I still miss them

I like it, and the fact she's ready to lift it. It's good to see the ladies with with their own four wheel drives. My wife has an old Jeep that she's mighty proud of!

That K5 looks like it's in great original shape!

It is for the most part. It does have a ding in the right hand quarter panel, but nothing to serious. Wiring and interior are a little shaky, but nothing that can't be dealt with. Motor does sound good and feels decent. Unsure of the internals, however it does have a Edelbrock performer intake and carb. I am trying to convince her to ditch the carb for a Rochester. Other than that it has Doug Thorly headers and a MSD distributor with the box that looks like it was wired in by a 13 year old girl on crack.

Gonna go ahead and step up to speak out what most others would say to any K5:

Cut it up! :doah:
