badmix asked for pics of my little project in another thread so here they are... I have a york from my dad but I don't have the $$$ to get it installed properly right now so I built this to try out for our trip to the dunes in February...

It's my old mini-compressor I used to use to clean off my r.c. cars years ago but it still runs like a champ... it has a 2 gallon tank mounted directly to it and then I plumbed in another 5 gallon auxillary tank so I'd have enough reserve to fill up tires.

It won't run tools by any means but it'll fill up tires and I have a total of about $20 into the whole project since I had the compressor/inverter/fittings/guages/etc and all I had to buy was the black 5 gallon tank.

I have a female quick connect so I can just hook up one of my 25' extensions I use at the house with my big compressor...

Anyways here's some pics.

Cool. Looks good. For some reason I was thinking it was in a K5. I didnt think about a P/up. lol

Yep it's in the old k10... I've decided to just mount everything in the bed and not worry about hauling stuff with it... that's what the 1 ton is for.

Looks good! I have a similar setup on the 90 Burb, only I used a 12v high volume pump. My old compressor was a plug in and was rated at 250psi, but had no volume, so even bike tires took forever to fill. So I got a pump that is rated at 125psi, but has 2cfm at 40psi and about .9 at 90psi. Addeda 10 gallon tank and all I do is let it run for awhile before I need it and I can fill one 33" in about a minute. At least you have a bed to put your stuff in. I had to take out the spare to fit all mine in without infringing on floor space.:D

thats badass! i have a coleman compressor about that size. i'm surprized that a 600 watt inverter was enough to run the compressor. how can i find out what size inverter my compressor might need?

these inverters really aren't designed to run stuff like compressors so all you can do is just hook it up and give it a whirl...
