Had to go tow a friends S-10 home, and went ahead and picked up a '75 3/4 ton 4x4 for $500 while I was in the area.

Gotta love that bright green. :D

I had him drive it home while I towed his S-10. Actually runs good even with the little 2 barrell carb on the 350. Over 50 miles home with no problem except one tailpipe fell off.

Now my friend wants to trade me his truck (one of my old ones) for this Green one.

I just wonder if I should keep the Green Machine around for a while or let him take it and I'd take back the '79 truck that he got from me last fall.

It'd be giving a '75 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 350, 465/205, 14 bolt and Dana 44 for a '79 3/4 ton 4x4 with a '76 vette 350, TH350, fulltime 203, my old lift and tires, and 14 bolt and Dana 44.

wow awesome find,, why cant we find those here and how the heck do you buy so many trucks!?

If it was my choice I'd keep the Jolly Green Giant. Heck of a deal for 500.

I would keep the green one too.

That's one sweet buy. That must be a good area to get a project truck, slim pickins around here.

You suck! just kidding.. GREAT deal. That green one would have gone for $1500 or so here.........

I wish I could find a deal on a donor truck, I couldn't even find a beat up 2wd to fix my truck with, the cheapest I could find was a grand!!!

So I ended up selling my burnt truck on ebay..

The picture I took of it looks ALOT better than in real life. If you were to look at it in person, the only actual "good" body panel that isnt rusted or tweaked is the hood. The floor is so bad that a piece of "aftermarket" tin is all that separates you from the road. But the windshield is good.

The guy had it advertised as a '75 1-ton 4x4 Chevy for $700, which I knew as soon as I saw the ad as a '75 was a big hub Dana 44 front. I was hoping maybe the year was a misprint and it was a '77 true 1-ton with a 60, but it was a '75 so I didn't even go look at it.

Then a week later (yesterday) he came down to $500 for it, so I figured, why not, since I just sold a 350 motor for $450 and a 400/205 combo for $700. If I don't buy something new around here ever few weeks the neighbors start to wonder (and probably celebrate).

Quaddawg, what are you going to do now? Are you giving it up or just taking a break?

You know there's another truck out there with your name on it.

I would say good deal :waytogo: soon I will be working again and getting my own good deals. seen so many that I was unable to snag. curses to the being broke bug! :haha:

What is Joes deal, why does he want it? Does he want it because its all one color? I'd keep it, it has a 465/205, I'd rather have that then the 79 with 350/203.

I'll vouch for that green truck looking ALOT better in the picture than it does in person. Pretty beat up, but if the motor goes out, you could pull up the floormat and drive it Flinstone style

Wish I could buy one!

That green truck would be the perfect candidate to replace my 74 GMC K20 --I could put the plow frame and bed on it,and be back in bussiness!---but I did see an 87 K10 in the paper with a plow for 700,so I guess its not impossible to find one nearby(I'd rather have a 3/4 ton for hauling weight though!)--but since I have about a grand in my bank account, then I'm broke,I'm not exactly jumping at all the trucks I'd like to buy right now--I might have to get rid of them all,if things continue to go the way they have been....:frown1:
