Can I see some pics of trucks with alot of tubing and some with maybe some differant cabs on blazer frames? I am in the market for some tube work (bumpers, sliders and cage) and I was tryiung to weigh my options. I have not one panal that is not busted, bent or inop on my blazer from
wheeling. :(

also anyone running these cages? http://shop.eoronline.com/product.sc?categoryId=2&productId=2

Find silveradoreb on pirate4x4.com. He had this cage done for about $500 at carolina rock shop in charlotte. If you wanna drive 3.5hrs I could do something for poor boy prices too. Just going to need it for a while.

Georgia Gabes has a lot of tube.

Not really. Theres prolly 3 sticks of tube back there (60feet). His cost is prolly 4.50/ft at the cheapest for 1.75/.120 DOM, thats $270 in just tubing and him not making any money on it. I'd want to make at least 0.50 or 1.00 a foot in mark up. There 14 notches that I can see and that it hard to get perfect on the first try, plus figuring your bends for that main hoop takes some thinkin. I would charge $300 in labor alone easy to do that work. I think any other fab guys on here would agree thats a good price.

I paid a little more than half of that for my S&W cage... and it included the rear section and more bracing.

S&W can buy large quantites of tube at low prices, make a few automated bends, sell in large quantity and still make a few bucks. Thats a lot different than custom tube work. I may be wrong but the s&w doesn't get tied into the frame either.

Maybe several years ago (I bought one back then also). I just got a new S&W catalog a couple of weeks ago and a 10 point "roll cage" made from DOM for a K5 is listed for $529.95, plus another $99.95 if you get the "family bar" kit.

I have about 1k in my cage... Its all 2" 120 DOM... but I still have a 20ft stick left... I think of cages the same way I think of helmets... If you think you are worth $300 then build it out of pipe... If you value yourself more than that then do it right. Here is a pic of mine

$4.50 a foot is nuts. We can get it locally for $3.05 a foot for a single stick and cheaper for more. I paid $2.36 per foot 3 years ago. That's for 1.75x.120 DOM.

at the time that cage was built 4.50/foot for only 60feet was a good price in Charlotte. Steel prices are like oil prices. Tell me why I fill up for $1.45 a gallon a week ago and last time I went wheelin I think we filled up for close to $4.50/gallon.

tubing prices really fluctuate ALOT. some weeks when i call for quotes, it's a whole dollar difference/foot. the only tubing supplier here has it at like $10/foot. up in portland it's around $3.50 - which is what i paid this last year. ofcourse, i haven't priced it in portland recently - could be up around $10/foot now like it is here (5 hours south).

think i should put a pickup cab on my frame and tube the back or just build a cage into my old beat body? (I have no straight body panals) I was just thinking it would be easier to run protected tractor lights, runb my shocks into the cage and ge my fuel tank up out of harms way.
