I'm about to install my transmission cooler, remote filter, and trans temp gauge. I know that my filter and my cooler need to be on the pressure side going into the bottom of the radiator. Does anyone have pics of their setup of any or all of the above mentioned? Just trying to get an idea of where I need to mount everything. Thanks in advance!

Well I mounted my tranny temp gauge sending unit right at the trans. On the drivers side , jus above the pan, there is a plug. remove plug and install the sending unit. So far it seems to work. I run about 150-160degrees on my 700r. As far as the cooler. Mine already had it, so cant help ya. But mine does go thru the radiator, and then out to cooler and then back to tranny. Something like that.

So is this the plug I would remove? It looks a little small so I'd have to get an adapter right?

That's the right fitting. It's 1/8" pipe and so is the temperature fitting, no adapters needed.

The lower line is the out (pressure) and the upper line is the return. Connect pressure to radiator then to auxilery cooler and back to return.

Sweet! Thanks a million guys! Now what do y'all recommend? The filter before the rad or after the cooler? I've heard both. 1) The filter can catch the trash in the fluid better if it's hotter and 2) if the filter is after the cooler, it can trap the particles from the cooler and/or the rad before it enters the trans. Thoughts?

Mount the filter before the cooler, debris usually gets caught in the cooler and will eventually plug it up. Make sure you change the filter often because restricted cooler flow equals less fluid for the lube circuit which will result in a burnt up rear planetary or worse.

Note taken, thanks! I hooked up my trans temp gauge and it was quick and easy! I drove to go pick up my kids and the temp stopped at about 180-185. Which makes sense since I've got a 180* t-stat and my primary fan turns on at 185*. My cooler plus the extra fluid should make a big difference. Oh, when I took the plug out, the fluid looked great and wasn't burnt or scorched. :waytogo:When i get my filter and cooler on, I'll be sure to take plenty of pics. :D
