As some of you know I bought Solidaxlesub's V-3500. My dad & I flew from Memphis, TN to Pasco, WA & drove the truck home. SOlidaxle sold me an awesome truck, it is an unbelievable survivor. The truck is in better shape than the pictures show. As promised here are just a few of the pics.

Damn nice truck! I like the stripped down version much better. :wink1:

I'm afraid to ask, but what kind of mileage did you get on the way back & how much are we talking for gas on the return trip?

Scared to figure up the total bill for the petrol. I did figure the mileage & it got between 9-12 MPG. We ran the truck hard though, 75-85 most of the time. we drove from 6:00pm-midnight the first day, 7:00am-midnight the second day & from 7:00-8:30pm the last day. The thing runs better now than it did when we left Wa. Gas was $3.70 to $3.25 till we got back into Missouri, then it finally got below $3.00 a gallon in Arkansas.

Buford was pretty neat, If i remember correctly it was right after Medicine Bow which was a very pretty place.

Medicine Bow rock pile, & the next 2 are after i cleaned it up today at the firehouse. She had a lot of bugs splattered on her.

Beeeutiful truck! Does the interior look as good as the exterior?

Thanks, but i owe it to Sam (Solidaxlesub). You be the judge on the inside, I just got through detailing it too. I have never seen one w/ the cream color headliner. I didn't think i would be a fan of the red/burgandy interior either, but it has really grown on me. I like it now. It hides dirt really well.

Clean truck. The cream headliner would take some getting used to. But I wouldn't think it would be a problem. I this thing all original?

The cream headliner has really grown on me, at first I thought dang that is ugly, but it gives the interior a nice contrast, it breaks all that red up some. I really like it now. Fact is I love this truck already.

Completely stock, except wheels, tires, & radio. I got the originals (radio & rims) of those with it too. Everything works: cruise, power windows & the A/C is extra cold.

I got some Firestone 265/75/16's from my old F-250, I am going to mount those on the factory wheels & put the hubcaps back on it for summer tires. I am thinking about some Thorley headers & a new exhaust for it. It still has the factory muffler & a cat behind that. I think the cat may be partially stopped up, the exhaust manifolds were getting a little too hot on the way home.

Congradulations on the new truck. There is something special about these crew cab K30's, due to mostly IMHO that not a lot of them were ordered, back then ordering a truck with 4wd wasn't a fashion statement so not a lot had 4x4, and most of the owners that ordered them bought them because they needed a 1 ton 4x4 and put it through the paces....usually ending up with a delapitated piled of junk after 15 years of 1 ton 4x4 types of use.

I love seeing great finds like that, I bought my '81 last winter in the similar condition as yours..... a crew cab that had managed to survive with having a good one owner for 20 years, and was well taken care of in that time.

my K30 crew was a weekend only RV pulling camping truck, served doing this for 20 years, so that is what kept it in such good shape.

Whats the story on yours? How was it spared so well? Shoot, you didn't mention what year it is, but it's close to 20 years old by now.

I love the way these crew cabs look, they just look so smooth and tough, but it's the rarity and difficulty level of finding one that is in great shape that really turns me on about them. You can always find a K5 in good shape, a half ton 4x4, and even a 3/4ton 4x4....but it takes some digging to find a 4x4 crew cab....

Sorry, I took it for granted that all the Crew Cab guys knew about it already. It was for sale on this board. It was Solidaxlesub's truck. He was the second owner & had only had it for a year or so. The original owner ordered the truck from chevy, & used it primarily for camping/RV towing. I am the third owner.

It is a '91 4x4 Silverado. All power everything, 454, 4L80E/205, D60/14 bolt.
