Ok i am trying to get my front gears in and i cant get my inner pinion bearing to go on. iI know it should be pressed on but the cage of the bearing is the highest piece.
yoke end
__ __ cage
-- --inner

I know it is a crude pic but if i was to put it in the press it would hit the cage and destroy the bearing. Any suggestions????
btw this is on a 10 bolt

Try throwing it in the oven at 350 or so, get it nice and warm and it might drop right on. When I used to work on tractors we always had a crock pot full of hydraulic oil that we used to warm up our bearings. Worked like a charm.

take it to a napa store or a big a thay can press it on had mine done worked fine

Yep we do them at work all the time.

You put the bearing on a table with the pinion sticking through it and press on the top of the pinion and the bearing slides right on.

run some emory cloth over the pinion, where the bearing goes, to remove some of the pakarising (sp?). Press it on using the race.
