when i take the yoke off my 14bff and am trying to access the crush sleeve should the front bearing behind the yoke just pop out?

you have to remove the entire pinion support (6 bolts) when you do, keep track of the metal shims that go between the support and the housing as they are there for pinion depth.

I found that thread on pirate about the assembly. Im putting it back together now but I can't get the front pinion bearing pressed in all the way. Im guessing its now hitting the crush sleeve. I started it in a press but I can't get the thing any tighter its still got just a little back and forth play in it

14 ff rear take a bit from contact to getting to spec. slow and steady is the ticket.

i just built a yoke holder for the next time i have to do it. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282939 realy helps in the end.

then i have a 1/2" drive snap-on ratchet thats 25" long = lots of leverage.

i have done a few and its a slow and steady baby steps thing to check the turning force each time. you dont wana go to far.
