pipe bender question

Has anyone ever used this bender? I won't use it often. Will this type of bender make smooth bends or would the pipe have kinks or wrinkles in the bends?

kink city. Been discussed many many times its a pipe bender not a tube bender plain and simple.

I used that exact bender to build my first bumper. You can waste a lot of pipe even if your carefull.

What's a decent alternative to that kind of bender? I'm looking for one to make my roll cage since I don't like any of the aftermarket cages and a local shop will cost aroung $900 for the setup I want.

JD2 Model 3 or any of the clones out there. They are a manually operated rotary draw bender.

There are dies available for pipe or tube, so I'd recomend deciding what material you want to use before ordering a die set. Some sizes are less common and therefore a ton more expensive, and die sets run in the $200 neighborhood.

i bought a pro-tools bender ($283) and 1 die ($185) and degree ring ($118). with shipping it came to almost $650. just make sure to get the die you want.

the UPS guy was kinda pissed carrying a 70lbs, 65lbs, and a 40lbs box to my door.
