I would like to vent a little and say it seems like some people here are more interested in arguing with one another and trying to prove they are the almighty 4x4, engine, tranny, rock crawlin', Sh$t not sticking answer to all of our prays. When I look at a post I would like to hear as many different view points, opinions and ideas as I can in the shortest amount of time. Not have to read one member bash another. I thought this was a great big family. And please, if you think I'm a jerk or an idiot feel free to let me know, Send me and e-mail, don't waste everyone else's time.

It's a discussion board with different personalities. I think the people on this board are very friendly and helpful. There's nothing wrong with a little ribbing. I doubt people on here mean to put anyone else down. When reading a post you can't hear someone's tone of voice and it might not come accross as the poster meant.

There is a button at the bottom of the posts that if you hit it, it will notify Steve or Myself.
I agree. I do not care for the "Pissing matches". I will deleat them when they get out of hand. Now don't get this confused with a "Debate". A Debate is when people are voicing their veiws in an adult manner. As long as it stays adult and no personal attacks I let them stand. It get's personal it get's deleted.
Please understand that both Steve and I have lives outside CK5. I try to keep up with stuff as much as possible but I do have a job, wife, 8 year old, 6 month old and 5 vehicles that I spend time with also.
You hitting the button at the bottom of the post will notify me the next time I log on to a post that you feel may be in poor taste so that I can go look at it or know about it if I have missed it when I look through new posts.

White Knight said it. You can't read a person's tone. I sometimes re-read what I wrote and it sounds rude and mean sometimes, but I don't even mean to. Anyhow, different folks, different strokes.

I agree with White Knight. You are asking for opinions, use the info you want, and disregard the rest. Right now one of the posts with the most threads concersns 12b axles. There are a lot of varied opinions and some sound a little hostile, but so what, they are just opinions which the poster is entitled to. I don't agree with everything I see, but there are a lot of smart people here, with a huge amount of experience and generally are extremely helpful. I assure you that if you went to your local 4x4 shop and started askings questions about how to do this and that, you would wear out your welcome quickly, they are not there to give free advice, IMHO.

I firmly believe that our kind of activities are not a true science. Meaning, there is more than one way to do just about anything we want to do. Many people here are strong-willed, but all are helpful. There are a few people that, as you read the posts, you will learn to just ignore. They are the ones that say someone else is wrong or attack another without offering any advice of their own. Those are simply to be ignored. Won't take long to learn who those people are.

Differing opinions and mightier-than-thou attitudes exist everywhere. So why should this be any different? Just as in life, you learn who to listen to and who to blow off.

And if someone is getting personal, then let the moderators deal with it. There is plenty of room for debates, discussions, and differences of opinion, but there is NO ROOM in this family for rudeness, lack of respect, or personal attacks. I am sure that everyone on this site has been wrong at one time or another. That's why we're here. To learn.

YOU SAID IT BROTHA!!! try any find someplace else where we anyone can get such great advise on such a wide variety of subjects! thank GOD (steve) hehehe of CK5.

Yup it is a discussion board and many of these discussion have passions behind then. I think it is really crutial that people read the board knowing people aren't looking for a fist fight or screaming match. I like some of the post w/ arguments or higher tension discussions going. This is where you can get some really awsome in depth info. Overall sometimes someone takes something the wrong way or some says something they regret... all you can do then is apoligize and go on. Now name calling and when you start some of the other crap that moves from the issue at hand to ripping on a person or whatever (same simalar to the Blazerbabe post(s)) are what needs to be deleated IMO.

Whats sad is, if all of us on this board were sitting out in a field, with our trucks, there probably wouldn't be one single argument. Debates, yes, but when you can see a persons expression and hear the tone of voice, it makes a world of difference compared to ANY type of electronic forum.

If you piss on your maches it will be hard to start a campfire, and if do manage to get it going it will most likely smell bad.
