Piston rings and bearings

I'm getting parts together for the 347 in my 89 ford. I have eagle crankshaft, and rods, getting KB hypereutectic pistons. I see on summit racing that there's a pile of different options.

What has worked best for you guys? This is my first engine build and I'm not really sure what to get, it's just a torquey, stockish build so I don't need to go crazy.

like Brad mentions, stock should be fine for a stock replicated build up....I do like Moly coated rings though, they seal very quickly to the cylinder walls.
 
Any brands you can think of that would be better for the rings? Or do I just go with speed pro or whatever brand that is now.
 
Hastings, or Engine pro is what I have used and are happy with.
 
Speed pro, federal mogul, clevite is typically what most places stock.

My higher perf engines ill use a harder beearing that can withstand greater loads from compression and extended rpm. If you don't plan on flogging the piss outa it stock is fine.

Had good luck with hasting rings and speed pro. Cast rings are fine but moly is better. Talk with your machinist about what rings to get before he final hones your block

Moly rings NEED a perfectly round bore or they WONT seal. Cast iron rings seat instantly and will even seal with a cylinder that is out of round .005" or more.
 
This will be freshly bored, hopefully only 30 over. So out of round shouldn't be much of an issue.

Make sure the boring is done with torque plates. If you don't know what a torque plate is, it is a plate that is bolted to the block to mimick the stress that the head bolts put on the cylinder walls so that when the block is bored the cylinders are round and true when the heads are bolted on.
