pitbull's

Here are a few pics of the Pitbull's in action (well, between action anyways)

: (Mind you, yes, I know my truck is a friggin mall cruiser high rig. I am going to drop the body lifts and chop chop the fenders. I am just working with what I got so bare with)

Oh, and if you get to happy on the throttle you might end up removing some snow:

Oh, and of course I just had to get stuck at least once. Stuck pretty good up to the bumpers, only to dig out (and use the lift in the pic again) once we got to the hood deep snow on one side of a drift. The snow was pretty terrible wheelin wise. It was the type that was very wet and would compress under the weight of the truck, but then while slowing down because of the snow depth and thickness, would cup around the tires and close you in. It was 43 degrees up high and 20 below, so the snow at lower elevations would actually fly out of your way.

Good fun on a Saturday!

If you guys can't get a decent quote from your local dealer...just email me and I'll get a good dealer to quote you. Sorry if someone dropped the ball...not all of our dealers are up to snuff on our products...but we're working on it.

As for someone puncturing a sidewall...we have had only two tires in 18 months where someone punctured a sidewall. Any tire can be punctured.

As for balancing tires...every once in a while you get one that is out of whack compared to the other three. It happens with any big tire. We back our products. But sometimes you get shops that don't know how to balance a large tire properly...nor should even attempt to do so because they don't have the right equipment to handle large tires.

Regardless...it hasn't been an issue...only a few tires over the past year and a half.

I'll repeat what I've said all along...don't buy our tires until you've seen them in action. And by action I mean someone with a rig that has the power to turn them...because they bite hard.

Anyway...all large dedicated 4x4 tires are expensive....so research before you spend your money...which I'm sure you do anyway. We've had excellent results and the word is spreading.

I will quickly add that the four tires I purchased have proven to be pretty true and I have not had to balance them. I am trying to weigh the advantages of balancing (primarly because of wierd wear patterns) vrs. the likely chance of spinning the tire on the rim. I certainly do not need to balance them because of driving characteristics (since they are just fine).

There seems to be a big difference in rolling friction between 25 psi and 15 psi (well duh I guess).

I need to add more steering reinforcing and work on my alignment a little. I am getting a tiny bit of wandering left and right. Probably a mix of caster and toe in that needs adjusting.

I forget if I mentioned it here, but the 39.5 measures 18" wide at the sidewall on a 12" rim. The sidewalls seem a little softer ride wise than other bias plys I have had.

P.S. Hey Pitbull guys (ElDiablo) See if the local chain of Discount Tire stores would be willing to sell your tires (hopefully stock). The current company that was recommended to me is not a favorite around here and Discount has always proven to have very VERY good service and honest sales. I and others I know have had trouble with your WA/OR dealer chain. Just FYI for yah. I also see you got some new pics up on your website of random vehicles with your new treads. Any plans for some 40" + tires?

Wow looks great, one question to you tho boxxerace. what camera did you use to take those pics? looks really good

Specifically I use a first generation Digital Nikon D100. However, I will note that good photographs do not require a good camera specifically (although the adjustments can certainly help) and I find that the camera body (when refering to SLR's with detachable lenses) has very little do do with the image quality and instead good quality lenses and simply taking lots of pictures will give you the best results. However, I have taken excellent pictures with my wife's digital point and shoot. Tripods are your friend :)

Oh, while I am stuck on Nikon for now, (and I reallllly want the new D200) many other high quality camera's around out now selling for comparible pocket change from what I originally bought my camera for.

This morning I grabbed the little camera and captured some pics of the Pitbull's squishing out nicely while doing a impromptu RTI test on a local retaining wall/hill. Post em up tonight.

No plans for Discount Tire. But I appreciate the feedback.

Well, the Pitbull Rockers are still making work of wet Pacific Northwest soil. These tires combined with a big block, lockers and a heavy foot throw chunks of earth everywhere.

I have been pleased with these tires. They drive on the street quite reasonably when needed and have a much softer ride compared to other bias ply's that I have had in the past. Traction is good in the rain, especially for a blocky tire. Of course I have much more "testing" to do in the future, and of course I will grab some photo's of it along the way.

Just a quick update.

Note: 25psi - tire runs on about 12" of rubber, side paddle lugs don't touch.
15psi - tire sits more flat on the ground, and it gets the full 16.5" of width.
12psi - squats out more.... below this I have not dared on my plain ol 16.5's. Sometime here I will get double beadlocks of some sort.

You've got more gutz then I. Heard too much bad things about Danial and USA6X6 too risk it.

I've been hearing nothing but good things about those tires. If I were in the market for tires in that size, I'd definetly choose them. They'd look really good on a K5 with about 4" of lift and some fender trimming.

call us at 800.645.2006 and we'll locate a dealer close to you. I have not updated the dealer locator in about a month...so we have many more and I plan on having it updated this week.
