im trying to remove the pitman arm on my 87 and ive noticed that their are these inverted covers around the three bolts and their inside the pitman arm (i suck at describing stuff) abyways how in the heck do i get this crap off?

First off, what you are describing is your steering arm and not your pitman arm. The pitman arm attaches to the steering box sector shaft. Anyhow, remove the nuts, spray the studs with a penetrating oil of some kind, then get a BFH and hit downward on the steering arm and also on the side of it but NO NOT hit upward as those "inverted covers" are actually cone washers and hitting upward will make it even tighter. With the proper technique you should have that steering arm off in about 2 minutes.
