well santa wants to get me the arm for my 4 inch lift but im not sure witch arm i should tell him to get. what arm works better and handles better the raised steering arm or the drooped pitman arm ???

and also what is the cable that lokar makes to bypass the computer on the 700r4 tranie is it the hi-tech kick down cable ???

I vote steering arm. I think I would want the pitman to keep as close as possible to it's pivot point. EBay has them for like 45 bucks or hit up a vender.

You're gunna have to explain the tranny question. I have an 85 w/ 700r4. There is a "cut to size" speedo cable Lokar makes, nice piece, I have it. I've heard Orielly has something too, never seen it though. Any regular TV cable will work. Are you talking about lock up? www.Bowtieoverdrives.com has kits for that.

Crossover, push-pull, what axle, etc?

I have a raised D44/10bolt steering arm for push-pull that you can have for the ride from Nevada. Probably about $10 to ship.

4" lift and up = steering arm

2-3" lift = pitnam arm

Make sure the arm you get has new cone washers, most do not include these.

I just installed a drop pitnam for my 3" lift and its great, easy to install and left my angle perfect. I also installed new draglink at the same time.

if you want fast bolt on + best resale and fast resell later = pitman arm for box.

if you want cheeper and little harder to install if old arm frozen to knuckle and harder to resell = raised steering arm for axle end.

I just purchased a raised steering arm, but I can't get the damn stock one off....help!

Any advice y'all can give me to help with the removal?

Also, where do you get the replacement tapered washers?

DUCK

The correct thing to do would be if you got one of these, a 2wd box, the correct pitman arm and cut down and old chevy tie rod for a new drag link:flipoff7:

jk I vote raise steering arm if you are going to keep the push pull...

Get a hammer and beat it back and forth, sounds brutal but thats the way to do it. As for the washers I'm not sure, mine came with new ones...

I went with the steering arm, easy swap And impressed with the results.

To remove, hammer insidel And outside where the pitman used to attach. Once lose a little up and down will get it off.
