Does anyone here have an OTC 8150 pitman arm puller? If so does it work on our trucks (2wd boxes) and how well does it work?

I ended up using a hyd press plus a torch to get mine off of my 2wd box.

Unfortunately that doesn't help me with my question.

I have a 40 ton hydraulic press but I choose to use the proper tool for the job at hand.

I chose to try the proper tool as well.......it broke. Dont know the specifics of the tool. Was not mine.

That is why I asked about a specific brand of tool. OTC is usually a really good quality tool. I suppose i'll find out first hand how good it is when it arrives here next week. I was just hoping to get some feedback on the one I asked about.

I think that one does. But if the arm is stuck be prepared to use a little 3 lb hammer assistance to help things move.

x2 I dont even know what a OTC 8 whatever pittman puller is.
I have a basic pittman puler tool. It works on every vehicle i have used it on. The hammer is a must. I usually put the pressure on and give it a couple of good wacks. They pop right off

At my old shop I used a pitman arm puller that was basically a C shaped tool with the pressure screw in the middle. A couple hammer hits is usually in order after there is a good amount of pressure on the screw (i'm aware of that). The OTC tool i'm bought is a MUCH stronger tool than the C shaped one since it is a conical shape fully enclosed 50% away around the puller body. I just wasn't sure if it fits around the pitman arm of these trucks (2wd version). There are two different OTC pullers and this one does say truck so i'm hoping it does fit.

It's always the tools as these that you forget all about until you need them. :doah:

i traded a old snappy 1/2 inch ratchet and a harbor freight impact for it. I really like it though.

fyi watch out for otc. like alot of others its china products now.

got a new balljoint press few months ago. china now. old one at the shop for 10+ years was not china.

works fine but dosnt feel as good as the old one.

yea about 90% of tools are made in china now. but the OTC stuff still beats the hell outta the HF stuff by a long shot
