I have lifted the front of my 81 sub 3" and I want to put on a droped pitman arm to help angles. My question is adv auto sells one for about 80 bucks but it is labeled as a 4" drop, will this work for my 3" lift or is it too much? I know summit has them but I am just trying to save a coyple bucks. THANKS for any help

Skyjacker has a 2" drop pitman arm, suitable for lifts of 2 1/2" to 4". I've got mine from ORD. My lift is 3" TC HD, and bumpsteer is almost nonexistent.
Just make sure the draglink is parallel to the front half of the leaf spring.

Ok, lets clarify a few things to get straight. There are a few ways to compensate for the correction of steering geometries. Too many people get some terms mixed up, so here's what we have:

Drop pitman arm: Made by Skyjacker, is a true 1.5" drop.

Raised steering arm: Made by numerous lift manufacturers, all offer 4" raised, Skyjacker is the only one offering a 6" raised arm and using this arm requires longer studs.

Raised steering block: Made by numerous lift manufacturers, only 2" and 3" blocks offered unless others are custom made. Using these will require longer studs.

On your Sub, with a lift of only 3", I would go with the 1.5" drop pitman arm. You could get a true 3" by using the raised steering blocks but removing the stock studs is a PITA.
