This may sound dumb but.....I have been putting the front end of my 70 K5 together after swapping in 3/4 ton Dana and adding a 4 inch TC lift with zero rates. After adding the raised steering arm I am ready to install the dropped pitman arm but the splines don't match the arm ORD sent me. The stock arm had a split with a bolt to tighten it up but the TC one does not have this. I know the 4WD steering box has a notch in it and the 2WD box has splines...maybe I have a 2WD arm? I also noticed on some of pictures in other threads theres a nut that holds the arm on, but mine does not have threads for nut on the end. Do I have the wrong pitman arm or do I need to change the steering box?

Depending on the quoted lift range of the steering arm, and most cover a 4" lift, I wouldn't think you'd need a dropped Pitman.
Ultimately you want the drag link to be horizontal/parallel with the ground.

I rechecked the part number from TC and for my application it shows the same arm that I have...strange. So with 5 inches in the front ( 4" spring and 1" zero rate) you guys think I can get away without a dropped pitman?

I had a 6" lift on my burb and I only used a raised steering arm and my stock draglink and it was parallel to the ground.

Is the steering arm for 4-6" lift?
Did you install Zero Rates to move the axle forward? You might not like the axle wrap.

I installed the front zero rate for the extra inch and to fine tune if needed. I didn't want to be to close the the "fang" on the front fender. Right now it is in the neutral postion until I can further assess where the tire placement will be.
